Diamond-Tini Beverage Bling

Diamond Martini
Dash of premium dry vermouth
½ cup premium vodka, frozen
Lemon wedge for garnish
To a chilled cocktail glass, pour the dry vermouth over the vodka. Twist the lemon wedge over the drink. Run the lemon wedge around the Rim of the glass.
Optional: Add some nice ice for the ultimate in Diamond-tini!
I enjoyed the company of friends over the weekend – sitting outside on the deck under a canopy of clear blue sky, a cacophony of bird song in the background, and watching the ripples in the surrounding water created in the wake of passing boats. This underscored life’s simple but tranquil pleasures.
When our hostess served us Diamond-tinis I forgot for a moment my pastoral surroundings and visualized the glint not of the sun sparkling off the rim of my glass, but a sizeable diamond nestled in the bottom, blinding me with it’s light.
I’d previously read about the Diamond-tini version served at the Ritz Carlton in Japan. Theirs, infused with a hint of lime, and chilled Belvedere Vodka, is poured over some nice ice – a 1.06 carat diamond! As an aside, the ‘tini is prepared at your table not with a cacophony of birdsong, but with a serenade of “Diamonds Are Forever”. The mounting of your choice is to follow, and is part of this beverage bling experience – all for a mere $15,000. Martinis have never been my drink of choice, but a grand gesture such as this would certainly expedite that “acquired taste”!
Elsewhere in the world, beverage meets bling with the pairing of various pieces of jewelry, including pearls (Gotham Martini at the Capital Grille in Vegas) , diamond pave rings (The High Roller, also offered at the Capital Grille) and in Antwerp, Belgium, one can order a splash of fine “bubbly” over a lovely bauble in the carat weight of your choice/relative net worth.
Giving new meaning to the notion of “intoxicating”! For a non-alcoholic version, check out these Diamond and Gemstone Martini Necklaces!

Wow, I am definitely mixing in the wrong crowd….. $15,000 martinis with diamonds. Anyone can count me in for an all-inclusive-all-paid-for invite

Me, too, Sharon. Drinks on the deck at the home of a friend just tended to pale by comparison. It’s definitly a lifestyle one can aspire to, if only in our dreams!

I know, especially now that I’m married and everything…. And I can’t see my husband telling me…. “Let’s go that martini bar and have ourselves some bling.”
However, that seems like an awesome idea to propose to someone. Don’t you think?

Samantha, my dear, I hope you drank it!

It is awesome indeed, Sharon. Don’t fret — many people exchange their vows a second time. Now, would that not call for a second proposal? And if so, you could insist on the bling at the martini bar! There you go!
Please report back to us if successful.

I most certainly did drink it, Princesse. I wouldn’t want to offend the hostess! Anyway, it was conducive to envisioning a nice little bauble in the glass after I’d consumed it.

I love the martini necklace. Tres cute.
And thanks for your comments! You are so sweet. I loved my wedding dress, and the whole wedding. It was a blast. And I’m adding you to my blogroll too!

ha-ha! A second exchange of vows? My husband is a techie that probably wouldn’t even remember where he left the kids (when we do have them). Trying to do a second set of vows just will not fly with him.
I do, however, keep on leaving him notes that every single year I expect bling for putting up with him.

LOL! Sharon — if he’s a techie, then he may relate better to buying you that pricy peripheral the diamond mouse. So you could try that angle. And if he has selective amnesia, the notes re: bling are a great idea.
Have you put up with him enough to warrant a nice diamond eternity ring yet? How will you be quantifying the bling for endurance?

Whenever I think Martini I think Ted Kennedy. It would be nice to find a diamond martini glass with a submerged car in it.

Jon! Wouldn’t you rather forego the wheels, for the sheer pleasure of having put nice ice in the Martini for that special someone? A gesture like that will get you far more mileage than any car ever would!
