Tennis, Anyone?
Perhaps like myself, you’ve been watching the US Open tennis action with rapt attention. Imagine if you saw the players serving and volleying, chipping and charging, with a diamond studded tennis ball!
Such a ball exists, but it’s not destined for the court. Comprised of 4300 diamonds and 24 carat gold, it was made by the Wimbledon Jewelry Brand. The lucky recipients of the bling balls, valued at $85,000.00 , will be this years winners of the Wimbledon men’s and women’s singles championships. What an advantage!
The Wimbledon Brand is to be developed and marketed by Gitanjali Gems, with endorsement by the very exotic Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta.
In addition to these tennis balls, the company has produced bracelets and pendants — a sports range called Sporterati. Crafted for the championship, the items are gold and have diamonds set in black transparent polymer. The target market is young sports enthusiasts.

This is quite something, especially in addition to the trophy they’ll receive, not to mention the cash!

Yes! As if it’s not a big enough payday, they’ll receive a bling ball too! If only I’d known — I would have kept up with those tennis lessons.
