Mandy Moore is Self Engaged
Mandy Moore is successful, self-assured, and recently, self-engaged. Underscoring a trend which currently represents $3.75 billion in business in the US jewelry market, the term “self-purchaser” was coined.
Mandy, having purchased an engagement ring for herself, factors into the self-purchase market trend — specifically the purchase of rings, which accounts for 2 out of every 5 self-purchased jewelry items.
The self-purchased so-called self-engagement ring, along with the right hand ring , and it’s predecessor the “AH” ring (“Available and Happy”), signal that women are bucking the tradition of bling bestowed upon them by their intended, and opting instead, to finance their own indulgences – because, they can!
Self assured singles are self indulging in more non-traditional rings with popular selections including colored diamonds – pink, yellow , and blue diamonds.
I find this diamond ring particularly engaging!
There are myriad tasteful and tempting rings from which to choose to make this statement of unwedded bliss and self assurance. Any trend that highlights independence and doesn’t disenfranchise women of their single, but happy status, is a move in the right direction!

I hadn’t heard about Mandy Moore’s self engagement ring. How cute!
I love my engagement ring more than anything. It’s a princess cut antique style ring, and it’s beautiful. I like simple and classy.
Hope you’re week is off to a good start!!

Hi Alex! Yes, I guess since she’s had a run of bad relationships, she decided to go ahead and “self purchase”. I don’t blame her, but can’t understand why she doesn’t have men beating a path to her door!
Your ring — lovely and an enduring classic style.
Thank you — I hope your week is great, too, Alex.

My husband really surprised me with such a pricey diamond….. I got lucky, I suppose. Must be all that money we have been saving while he’s in reign of our financial accounts
Those right hand rings are just an awesome trend. Too bad, they came out after I met someone or else I would have been off getting a couple for myself. I think it’s just great that women are taking steps to announce that they are available. Don’t you think?

Hi Sharon! I bet your diamond is beautiful because I know you have great taste. I like the trend too. I don’t think women should deprive themselves of owning the type of ring we most covet just because there is no man around to provide it for them. And if they’re “self engaged”, there’s no breaking up and no demand that the ring be given back due to breach of contract!
So it’s a win-win.

Holy moly. That’s all I can say. I’m all for it if a woman wants to buy her own ring.

LOL! Jon — why does that not surprise me? Then again, I’m thinking your mind would be on such things as luxury vacations, housing, and a sports car for the woman in your life! Don’t be too overtly enthusiastic over the idea though. Just a little tip.

I’m all for it!! Why shouldn’t we single gals who are content to be in our own skin proclaim our happiness with simply being?!?! Waiting for someone to put *the ring* on your finger is not the only alternative to having our own *sparklies*!! Thanks for the news about Mandy……. isn’t she gorgeous!

Hello Ms. Jewelry Collectibles. I really like how you phrased that “content to be in our own skin and proclaim our happiness with *simply being*”. So true! And I’m happy to say we can have our own “sparklies” as so many women are coming to realize these days.
You’re very welcome. Yes, Many’s lovely — very fresh-faced and talented. She doesn’t succumb to the pressures of conforming to a “standard” body type. Good to see!
Thank you for visiting!
