Theron, recently engaged to her long term boyfriend Stuart Townsend,whose visibility in this decidedly different dress (eliciting such descriptors as “Big Bird”, and “feather duster”), and topical nature of the film in which she starred, created quite a stir. Like it, or not (the dress, that is — and I do!), one thing is for sure – choice of dress notwithstanding, carefully chosen accessories including a simple pair of diamond stud earrings and a diamond bracelet are undisputed jewelry staples!

Who looks this good when stepping out to run some errands? Halle Berry does! Consistently chic, Halle is clad in an aubergine baby doll dress – a style she’s favored all summer, one which can accommodate some weight gain were she to be with child! Obscuring her midsection, as per usual, we are none the wiser as to whether or not Halle and her Berry gorgeous beau Gabriel Aubry are impending parents!

One thing is for sure, though – Halle’s hallmark exquisite taste is not to be outdone. Looking awesome clad in a champagne-hued satin tulle dress, Nicole Kidman puts in an appearance at the White Tie Dinner – a fundraising event for the White Ribbon Foundation whose mission is to raise awareness of violence against women.

Trendy layered chains accentuate without overpowering her overall look. Jlo’s recently been getting some death threats and it got me thinking about my mother (not the death threats - what kind of a daughter do you think I am? Not this close to mother’s day, anyway!). The threats came from the good people at PETA because, like my dear old mum, Mrs. Marc Anthony loves fur. The real kicker though is the earrings she was wearing in the accompanying photos: silver flowers blooming from her ear! I love celebrities. (In case you missed that.) They are the true heroes. Who else has the time and money for the noble cause of looking fabulous? It inspires us mere mortals to strive! But it isn’t always easy on them…

On styleikon.com I found a posting about Jessica Biel’s troubles after becoming Esquire Magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive.” She told Elle mag that she’s too sexy for many roles! Directors tell her they want a “girl-next-door” type instead. What has become of Hollywood?

What is wrong with them? This could be the girl next door. LOL Why not? Love those hoops. And I am really into that rounded gold pendant. Smooth, Elegant, Sexy. (I could live without the gold dog-tag. Save that for the girl next door.)

So let’s be clear: Jessica Simpson is still on my “Divas In Training” list. Meaning, she has the potential to wear appropriate or even attractive jewelry, but this cannot overcome the fact that her tan is out of a can and she is dumb as a bag of hair.

However, she showed up recently in these pave cut white gold hoops, which really are quite trendy and do especially well inside of a mane of hair of any color.

Don’t worry, this style of hoops is actually all the rage. You won’t turn stupid if you wear them. I tried to find a pair at Diamond Harmony, but they don’t have any right now. I have to write to them and get a special order!

Jennifer Lopez has announced that she has grown up, and no longer wants to be called J. Lo.  That’s Jennifer, please — Miss Lopez if you’re nasty.

This is from a couple of weeks ago in Madrid — she’s getting an award for her album “Como Ama Una Mujer”. 

Look at her earrings – an amazing combo of drops and chandeliers. The necklace is fabulous — blends with the light hair, contrasts the black dress. Are those yellow fancy diamonds?  I wonder if she does her own styling.  Um…no. 

Here’s Carla Gugino at the LA premiere of “The Lookout” on Tuesday. I don’t know what she does in the movie, but she still looks like that secret agent mother to me.

I think she keeps her spy kit inside that whopping diamond deal around her neck. She would have been great opposite that new guy in James Bond.

It is unofficially official that the “Indian Jones 4″ love interest will be Cate Blanchett, age 37.    Harrison Ford is 64.  Ooooh, sexy!  By which I mean to say, yuck!

Wild and crazy drop earrings, right? I love the onyx. Not so sure whats up with the wraparound diamonds-on-gold deal. How many piercings are involved there? Please post your guess.

It is also unofficially official that Emma Watson is bailing on the last two Harry Potter movies. Oh no! What will Harry do? Rupert Grint (the red-haired kid) blithely told a London tabloid, “Daniel and I don’t even text her anymore.” Well, indeed.

She looks exhausted. And why not, because, you know, she’s only 16! She’s Hermione Whoever! A stalker showed up at her school last week! She wearing pearl earrings with a lime quartz pendant! She needs a vacation, a bodyguard, a jewelry consultant! Best of luck, Emma.
